If you look like this when you are done working, it must mean you worked REALLY HARD! LOL! As Mike Rowe would say..."It's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it."

I enjoyed the recent bathroom remodels I have been working on. First it keeps me indoors and out of the cold! Second I enjoy taking a blank canvas or a outdated room and making it something the customer loves. Here are a few pictures of the work I did last week. Looking forward to the warmer weather!

A bit about our personal life. 6 Christmas Celebrations, Multiple Family Gatherings and a Funeral

                            Holiday Season 2014-2015

Well, as the new year gets going in full swing we wanted to share a little of our Holidays with you!

We started the Christmas season ice skating with the children and looking at lights! We loved the time together!

Then we had our immediate family Christmas early as it was a very busy time. Our son was overjoyed by a sweet, thoughtful gift from his sister! He tackled her with hugs! So sweet.

Christmas Eve we hosted Brittany's extended family for our traditional soup supper. Followed by a family sleepover. We all live in the same city but longed for the time when we were children and could wake up to stocking, family and breakfast. It was very fun. We then spent the morning together playing games and enjoying time with each other.

Christmas night we went to Kevin's family's Christmas where we had a marvelous rib-eye dinner! We enjoyed family and the children were overjoyed by their gifts!

The next day our Grandparents from Arkansas put on a wonderful Christmas party for the whole family at their hotel meeting room! It was fabulous! The most exciting part... coloring! Everyone got so into it! What a fun idea!

The Saturday after Christmas was not as happy as everything up to this point. We attended a funeral for Kevin's grandpa. It is such a hard time of year to lose someone. The family handled it well and seems to be doing OK. Kevin's mom joined us that evening for dinner and our mini Christmas with her and her husband. It turned out to be a very lovely time.

Then this past Sunday we had our final Christmas with Brittany's Great- Grandparents. It was a delightful time with out of town relatives. The food was amazing and the company was great!

Let's not forget New Years!! We have a family tradition, movie marathon. We vote during the day for 4 movies we want to watch then start at 4pm and go until midnight. We make snacks and create a bed with all our pillows and blankets on the living room floor. It is time for us to just enjoy our little family!

Hope you enjoyed this lenghty account of our Holiday Season! Time is going by so quickly we want to focus more on our friends and family, spending as much time with them as possible!

Top 10 Home Improvement Tips Every Home Owner Should Know! Tip #1

We are back with the last Tip Every Home Owner Should Know!

It doesn't matter if you've bought a newly built home,or a fixer upper—owning your own place brings out the home improvement itch in us all (or at least requires us to do necessary repairs and maintenance tasks). Here is the tenth tip and advice to help turn your dwelling place into a better home.

Tip #1

    Have a Plan

Last but not least, one of the worst things you can do when it comes to home improvements is to start a project without the major details—cost, time, materials, and design—as realistic as possible from the start. Nothing costs more than having to "change horses in midstream" (e.g., you want to move the fridge somewhere else now or want to change your tile choice). Talk with your contractor about every aspect of your project. Make sure you understand all the details. Lastly always plan financially for incidentals they almost always happen.

Hope you enjoyed out Top 10 Tips Every Home Owner Should Know these past few weeks!!  We are so excited to work with you on all your home projects and improvements. Call Kevin today and schedule a time for him to come look at your project and get it on the calendar!

Top 10 Home Improvement Tips Every Home Owner Should Know! Tip #2

We are back with the next tip every home owner should know! Over the next few weeks I am going to do a count down of the Top 10 Tips Every Home Owner Should Know!

It doesn't matter if you've bought a newly built home,or a fixer upper—owning your own place brings out the home improvement itch in us all (or at least requires us to do necessary repairs and maintenance tasks). Here is the ninth tip and advice to help turn your dwelling place into a better home.

Tip #2

Save Money on Your Home Improvement Projects

The more money we save on one home improvement project, the more we have left for all the other ones we want to do. In addition to knowing the remodeling projects that offer the most bang for your buck,  know which elements of a project you can splurge or skimp on—spend more on items that are hard to replace, such as the bathtub, but skimp on the faucet, for example, or spend more on a professional range if you're a gourmet cook and save on the decorative tiles and flooring that look like premium materials.

Top 10 Home Improvement Tips Every Home Owner Should Know! Tip #3

Here is the eighth tip and advice to help turn your dwelling place into a better home.

Tip #3

Choose the Right Contractor

This is about as important as finding a good dentist and finding a good therapist: Finding a responsible
handyman or contractor.  Horror stories of homeowners being scammed by contractors or having work done so shoddily that it cost thousands of dollars to redo (not to mention the money already spent) give me the shivers. Top 10 Home Improvement Tips Every Home Owner Should Know! Tip #4

Here is the seventh tip and advice to help turn your dwelling place into a better home.

Tip #4

Find Money for Your Home Improvement

Unfortunately, most home improvements do not pay for themselves. If you can't afford to finance the project in full with cash, look into the different ways you can finance your home improvement without putting your home at risk. Also, if you know the difference between tax breaks you get for home repairs or home improvements, you can make the proper deductions at tax time and get some money back from your project. Similarly, if you're paying private mortgage insurance, home improvements that increase the value of your home could help you eliminate that cost,  which, although it doesn't raise funds for your project, can reduce your housing expenses overall.
